Helping a Senior

Mercy Retirement & Care Center relies on the generous financial gifts from our donors. Mercy has a Charitable Care policy that provides financial assistance to older adults who have depleted their resource. As our population ages, Mercy will face an even greater challenge to meet the charitable care needs of its residents. We continue to reach out to the community to ensure that we will be able to continue our mission into the future.

People and businesses give us financial donations for a number of reasons:

  • We provide valuable care and service to seniors throughout Alameda County, including those who have moved here from other status to be close to their adult children or family.
  • The financial donations go directly to programs that serve the elderly.
  • Our sponsors, the Catholic Sisters of Mercy and the Lutheran Synod of the Sierra Pacific, help ensure that non-sectarian medical, social, and spiritual care is offered to every resident including those who over time have exhausted their resources.

Your donation will be used where the need is greatest at the time it is received. If you have a special program in mind to support such as our Charitable Care Fund, we will be happy to honor your designation. Click here to find out more about our various giving opportunities.

You can contribute by providing current gifts such as cash, stocks, or other property. Or you may wish to provide a gift in the form of a charitable gift annuity, bequest, or any number of planned giving programs which your financial advisor may recommend. These programs can make the most efficient use of your funds and are usually designed to minimize any tax consequences.
